How much to I save on stock moulding and Mat board? .....Discounts vary 20-70%
Scope of your order
The more pieces you order at one time - especially if they
are the same moulding, specifications and sizes the greater your discount
.
Ordering one frame at a time will always cost more than when you order many at a time. If you order 10 pieces framed at the same time your savings increases dramatically - even if you use different mouldings - we will do everything possible to help you save.
Same Vender?
....If our vender extends volume discounts, you will participate in that savings automatically.
Keep it simple.
There are a number of factors that combined determine
the price of framing projects. Key considerations are:
• Size of your piece
• Moulding Selection
• Complexity of details, matting
• Conservation services
This determines the base price - the next consideration is based on the scope of your project:
Standard Sizes
If images are standard sizes, frames made the same size from the same specifications will result in much higher discounts due to increased efficiency in production. If the sizes vary, but you use the same specifications, your pricing still improve, but not to the degree possible as when you have standard sizes.
We review the overall volume of your order, identifying efficiencies and help you obtain the best possible savings.
We provide traditional custom framing services, which is a business and design process conducted in our studio. Other than the most simple projects, we do not believe it is advisable to purchase frames site unseen. We want you to hold the frame profile in your hand, and look at this with the matting combination directly with your artwork. Metaphorically, how much is a frame is a question similar to asking a realtor, How is a house, or a car dealer , How much is car? It really depends on your requirements. We guarantee that our prices are the best possible, if you compare identical specifications to ours.
Moulding Selection
Moulding selection is a key consideration to the design of the piece. We believe that style as well as suitability for the scale of the piece is paramount to this decision as we never want our customers to learn regret they selected a moulding just because is it "cheaper".
Frame mouldings range in base price from $5 to $125 for closed corner gilded work. While the normal range is $8-20.
Accommodating diverse design objectives means that we are full-line dealers for all leading manufacturers of frame moulding.
Purchase from our Standard Selections
We purchase moulding in case lots specifically to offer a wide range of styles at discounted prices. We offer many mouldings at accelerated discounts up to 60% from retail!
Our savings are passed on to you. Standard lines, such as Studio and Larson, are discounted at least 20% from retail. If price is the most important aspect of your selection process, we will help you identify the best moulding that meets the project requirements highest possible discount.
Size considerations
Frame materials often come in standard sizes.
Therefore, if we design your work into those sizes, better pricing is possible due to improved materials utilization. This is especially important when designing volume projects. For example, if you order frames that are 17 x 21, you can only get 2 mats out of a sheet of 32 x 40" vs. 16 x 20" where 4 sheets as realized per matt board. This saving in material is passed on to you when we calculate your price. The odd sizes also creates more waste and requires more labor.
Common Standard sizes
32 x 40 - standard mat board, foamcore, glass
40 x 60 - standard mat board, foamcore oversize
48 x 72 - limited mat board selection in this size
